Kemerton Battery Energy Storage System
The Kemerton BESS is a proposed large-scale standalone battery energy storage project located near Kemerton, Western Australia. The project has achieved Ready-to-Build status with secured land access, environmental clearances, development approval and a Western Power Access Agreement.
The project is located nearby the Kemerton Strategic Industrial Area (KSIA), a State Government-led industrial precinct developed to support energy, infrastructure and advanced industrial projects.
With a planned capacity of up to 330 MW and a six-plus hour duration, the Kemerton BESS is positioned as one of the largest near development battery projects in Western Australia.
Integration with the South West Interconnected System (SWIS), Western Australia’s primary electricity network.
